I have been getting a lot of calls this month from contractors and customers that are dealing with over-sealed floor issues.  Too much sealer has been put on the floor, and either little or none is being removed.
Remember, by the time a sealer begins to visually dry on a floor most if not all of the sealer has penetrated as much as it is going to.  Letting it dwell on the floor any longer is only going to get you in trouble.  Wipe up the excess sealer with an absorbent rag or cotton mop, if you have a floor buffer, do a final buff with a white pad as well.   This final step will make the floor “pop” and look its best.
Multiple applications of sealer after the first will have limited, if any benefit to the stone you are sealing, so don’t go crazy with how much product you put down.  A little goes a long way.
Finally, if you have over-sealed the surface, try re-emulsifying the sealer and wiping up the excess, or if left on for too long, it may require stripping with Stone Prep.
